This morning I had to face the music when I stepped on the scale. I knew, without a doubt, I would see a gain. After my revelation on Monday where I posted about trigger foods in the house, I did my best to turn that around the rest of the week and I actually tracked every day since. But mother nature was also working against me and I have been so bloated all week (TMI, sorry….).
One thing I try not to do is get mad at the scale. Getting mad isn’t going to help anything and ultimately I’ve made the decisions that led me to a gain. (except for the bloated part, that’s out of my hands) There is no room for negativity in weight loss, much like the rest of life. It doesn’t get you anywhere. So, like I always do, I faced this gain head on and now I am starting a new week.
Things I did right this week are:
- I tracked 6 of 7 days – this is huge after several weeks of not tracking consistently. I am still using the 3-month tracker, but using eTools to look things up.
- Ran 4 times this week, which is 1 day short of my 5 day a week goal. I also made it to hot yoga once.
- I ate a lot of fruits and veggies this week.
What I will focus on this week:
- This week;s meeting topic was Meals in Minutes and I left with a couple recipes shared by members. I can’t wait to try them out! I am always looking for new, easy recipes to add into the mix.
- Aiming for another good week of tracking. If I can track another 6 out of 7 days, that would be awesome!
- I need to stock up on tilapia, I ran out this week and missed having it for dinner. I also have a new recipe to try.
- Keep up my activity this week – 5 runs this week would be optimal.
Despite missing a morning run this week, I actually earned 2 more activity points than last week for a total of 27! In addition to running and hot yoga, we also went bowling one afternoon, and I’ve been doing the #AugustCoreFocus challenge.
This morning, hubby and I are going to the movies which is totally random for us. But, we have a gift card AND we are dying to see Jobs. I can’t wait! Tomorrow morning we will be at the bridge before the sun comes up. It’s crazy how much I look forward to those early morning bridge runs….
I saw this on the WW Facebook page this morning and I thought it was perfect…. Each week will be different. There will be gains, losses, and even weeks where my weight stays the same. But every week means progress…

Have a great weekend!
You are making yourself accountable!! Keep up the good work, you really are doing awesome!
Sounds like you have the perfect attitude…and I love that badge. Progress is just making those small steps in the right direction, or figuring out ways to deal with the setbacks. Definitely a LOT of progress taking place here!
We all have off weeks but I think it’s great that you are jumping right in and reversing the gain. Good luck with everything.
