I have to start this post by wishing hubby a very happy anniversary! Today is our 12th anniversary, it’s crazy how fast time passes by. It seems like we just got married and here it is 12 years later. I am such a lucky girl to have him. He loves me and supports me through everything. He’s pretty wonderful. And I love that he gets up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday to ride his bike along with me while I do my long run. I love you oodles and oodles, honey!
Week 7 was another good one for training. Each week has it’s conflicts with timing but I do the best I can to get my run in when I can, whether it’s morning or evening. Tuesday evening I ran with hubby while he did his C25K run. I didn’t run Wednesday and then made up for it Thursday and Friday. Exciting news this week was when hubby bought me a new pair of running shoes, which I desperately needed.
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – 3 miles
Wednesday – Rest
Thursday – 4 miles
Friday – 3 miles
Saturday – helped lay sod AKA Cross Training (suckiest thing ever!!!!)
Sunday – 8 mile run
I was a little concerned about this morning’s long run after laying that darn sod yesterday. Last night, I soaked in an epsom salt bath because I was sore. But, I am too stubborn to not get out there, so when the alarm went off at 5am this morning, I was determined and ready to go. From the start, my legs felt heavy. The 8 miles I had this morning meant I had to also run over the Sand Key Bridge. I swore a little running over it but I ended up running up and over both bridge both ways. Never underestimate the determination of a runner! I will say that my legs are really REALLY tired and sore now that I’m done.
On our way back, we watched the sun come up and it was so pretty! If only it were a little cooler like it was last weekend….
Total miles for Week 7 is 18.03. Whew! Great week! Week 8 will be the same Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but next weekend I don’t have a long run. I just have to run a 5K. Easy peasy!
Do you look forward to lower mileage weeks or do you enjoy longer miles? Do you love or hate bridges / hills?
