Happy Sunday! Oh, and Happy September!!!! This makes me happy. The first day of fall is this month, on the 22nd. Not that I’m counting or anything.
We almost didn’t get to run this morning… We got up at 5:20am to get ready to go to the bridge and realized it was raining. Hard. And then we heard thunder in the distance. I checked the weather map and it seemed sporadic. I was ready to just run around the neighborhood to stay close to home if it turned into more rain, but hubby said we should just go to the bridge. That idea turned out to be a brilliant one because it had not even rained there! Typical Florida. But since it is Florida, I kind of held my breath the first half thinking it could start at any time, there were clouds all around. There was never a drop of rain and it ended up being a great run for me. I owned that bridge this morning, running up and over both ways, minus the quick stop at the top for a great picture….
Today completed Week 2 of my half marathon training, which was almost identical to Week 1. It was a good week!
Week 2
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – 3 mile run
Wednesday – 3 mile run
Thursday – 3 miles run
Friday – Rest
Saturday – Cross Training
Sunday – 3.5 mile run
Total miles for Week 2 is 14.70! We had slightly cooler temps this week in the morning with a little less humidity and that makes me look forward to cooler weather even more. And yesterday finished up the #AugustCoreFocus challenge which I really enjoyed.
Tomorrow starts Week 3 and while it’s a rest day, I will be going to hot yoga class. I haven’t been in a couple weeks and it will feel great.
Where is your favorite place to run when training? Do you run in a different area on the weekends than you do during the week?
Hey you are doing good……………….your time is improving

Congrats on a great week #2. Florida weather makes me crazy. I didn’t even know it was raining anywhere that early this morning, but when I was driving to run yesterday I saw lightning and went anyways. Got my run in and finished just at the right moment.

I love speed work at the HS track. During the week it’s neighborhood runs from my house. On weekends when I have more time I drive to a trail or any place other than my neighborhood.

weather this week was so great!!!!! Keep it up!!!
Nice workout week! Nice job getting out there in the rain!
I like running on the bike path near our house, but only in one direction. The other direction is sketchy so I don’t always feel safe that way. I don’t usually go anywhere different on weekends when I run farther, I just expand my neighborhood/bike path runs. I’m too afraid to go too far from home just in case something happens. Maybe I’ll get more confidence as I progress…but for now I’ll be a chicken! 🙂

If you’re not comfortable, then don’t go farther. You’ll just worry the whole time. There’s nothing wrong with being a chicken – better safe than sorry. Do you have a RoadID or carry ID with you?
