Step out of that comfort zone!

One thing I love about blogging and social media, and the friends and connections it has helped me make, is how it has brought me out of my shell. I used to be VERY shy. And while I still may be shy when I first meet someone new, I don’t let the fear of getting out there stop me from doing something.

So, when the opportunity came up to take part in a photo shoot by my friends at Milestones Running & Triathlon Jewelry & Apparel, I knew I had to do it.

You may not know, that as of recently, I have been taking care of their social media. And in the short time I’ve been doing that,  I have come to love the owners Melody & Stu. They are so awesome and Melody puts her heart and soul into her business. I have to give credit to Melody for making me feel at ease. In the short time we have really gotten to know each other, I very much enjoy her company.

I may be a selfie girl, but standing in a room with lights and cool photography things and a camera are totally different. But, I enjoyed every minute of it. I modeled two different shirts, several different poses, and had a great time. I am sure much of it had to do with the people there, making me feel at ease. But my goodness, it was too much fun. I can’t believe this is ME!

Moral of the story? Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Life is short, do something you would not ever do otherwise. My weight, currently the highest it’s EVER been, did not stop me from getting in front of the camera and enjoying the moment.

Isn’t it funny how we can be so timid in front of the camera? In this day and age we live in, it’s so easy to take photos instantly with our phones and share them. I am always ready to take a selfie but the minute I’m in front of a camera – like a REAL camera – I’m so afraid. SO afraid. But I am absolutely thrilled with how these photos came out. Stepping out of my comfort zone seems to suit me. I may have to do it more….

What have you done to step out of your comfort zone?
