This past couple of years, I have set so many goals. Running, weight loss, reading, and more. Back in 2013, I even set a different goal each month. It was challenging, but rewarding.
This year, like so many others I’ve seen, I’ve decided to chose one word for 2015. One word that defines how I see my year and how I will approach all the things that are thrown at me.
I thought about several words….. Focus. Determination. Strength. Empowerment. Courage.
But one word really stuck out and I kept going back to it….. Balance.
I love the definition of balance, in both noun and verb forms.
noun – A condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions.
verb – To keep or put (something) in a steady position so that it does not fall.
Balance. This is definitely my word for 2015.
I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a dog mom, and a friend. I am a business owner, a partner, and a decision-maker. So much of what I do affects not only me, but many others around me. I know that it’s impossible to please everyone and there are times I simply cannot do everything. As most people do, I tend to struggle the most when things aren’t going as they should or if we’re facing difficult times.
Balance. This will be the year that I find balance in all things, while putting my focus on those things that are most important. To be present in life. I tend to keep looking forward rather than focus on the moment I am in. Taking time off during the holidays was so good and reminded me how important quality time is. Quality time with hubby is high on my list this year. Date nights, spending time sharing our common interests, and more. All these things are important to me.
One word. Balance.
