Goalgetter2013 – July

Hello July! Another month, another goal… When I decide on a new goal each month, I do my best to pick one that is relevant to what I am doing at that time. High on my list of priorities right now is being – and staying – active. Setting small challenges for myself keeps me motivated.

This month, I decided it’s time to add in an upper body workout. My body has definitely changed with all the running I do, but I would love some definition in my arms. I have always felt like my upper body is much weaker than my lower body. But in the past when I’ve done upper body exercises, my arms look very toned and I love that.

So, my goal for July is to complete an upper body workout at least 3 days a week.

Since I don’t belong to a gym and have limited equipment at home, I went onto Pinterest and researched upper body workouts. There are so many out there and they all look great. I decided on one shared by the fabulous folks at Pretty Muddy and all I need are two sets of dumbbells, which I have! I don’t see any reason I can’t do this workout three days week and hopefully have some definition in my arms by the end of the month. A girl can dream, right?

And so that I have something to compare to, here are some before photos… I can’t wait to see the after photos at the end of the month.

  3. Such an amazing goal. I am trying to do upper body strength training 2x a week and find it is so hard. I can run forever, but lift one weight and I am bored! Hopefully we can encourage each other!
