I am so excited about my goal for August. This one was pretty much a no-brainer when I first saw it. I try to pick a goal that is relevant to what I am doing each month. Let’s get right to it!
My fabulous blogging friend Kat over at Sneakers and Fingerpaints is hosting the August Core Focus Challenge. Kat is super focused on fitness. She is training for her first full marathon and just recently passed her NASM CPT exam. I am here to tell you that Kat is going to make a great personal trainer. Just following her on Facebook, reading her blog, and the few times I’ve seen her in person at events, she is such an inspiration. Just one of the reasons I knew I had to join in this challenge.
So, what’s it about? It’s about a strong core. No matter what you are currently training for, it all starts with the core. For me, a strong core helps with lower back pain. It will also help with my running. A strong core is the basis of all strength training and more. We can all benefit from a strengthening our core!
I would love for you to join me – and many others! – in this challenge. The basis of the challenge is that Kat will post daily exercises on Challenge Loop and you comment and share your progress. At the end of the month, if you have commented or shared your progress at least 5 times, you will be entered to win one of several great prizes, which Kat will pick randomly.

I really enjoy setting a new goal each month. It makes each goal seem much more manageable than tackling a whole list of them all at once. I just can’t believe it’s August already! This year is really flying by. I’m not going to lie though, I am pretty happy about the fact that as of today, I can now say that next month is September. I live for the fall and each month gets us a little closer.
