Through an opportunity with Tampa Bay Bloggers and Cobb Theatres, I was invited to a media event for a sneak peak prior to opening and provided gift cards. All opinions are my own.
Movies have changed quite a bit over since I’ve been a movie-goer. The movies themselves are so advanced and technical and so real – I love getting lost in a good movie on the big screen. Movie theaters have also changed – I remember when stadium seating was the big thing and it was exciting to not have someone directly in front of you blocking your view. Movie theaters went from a few screens under one roof to huge cineplexes with 20 or more screens. Recently theaters have cut back on the number of screens in order to offer more within the theaters they have. And the newest theater to open in our area has certainly outdone itself. Let’s just say that I can never go to another movie theater in this area again after getting a sneak peek of the brand new Cobb 10 Luxury Theatres at Tyrone Square Mall.
This new, upscale experience begins with the purchase of your ticket. Much like a concert, you get to pick your seats. All 10 screens have reserved seating. Long gone are the days of arriving at the theater super early to make sure you get a seat. Hubby and I love the very top row right in the middle and we always go early to make sure we get that spot. I am excited to reserve our seats ahead of time.
Once you are in the theatre, you get to sit in the most comfortable movie seat ever. I thought having an armrest that lifts up between the seats was great, but these reclining seats win. Put your feet up, kick back, and relax while you get lost in the movie of your choice. For me, the movies is very much an escape for a few hours so these seats will make it even better.
There are cupholders, of course. But, it gets even better. Cobb 10 has food trays that fit in the cupholder and swivel so you literally have a tray in front of you to hold your popcorn, drink, candy, and more.
Speaking of food, there is so much more than your typical movie theater food. You can get popcorn, pretzels, candy, nachos, pizza, and more in the cafeteria-style snack bar. BUT! It does not end there. They also have a full service restaurant and full serve bar (craft and domestic beer, wine, and cocktails). Cobb Theatres has gone all out with their Cobbster’s Kitchen & Bar.
My friend and fellow Tampa Bay Blogger Angelina was also at the sneak peek and she shares all about the food and drinks in her post. I am going to tease you with some photos of just some of what is available and what we tried. This is such a game changer for the movie experience. Anything you order in the restaurant and bar you can take into the theatre with you. I don’t know about you, but sipping a Sinful Sangria while eating a fresh-made meal while watching a movie sounds heavenly. Or enjoy your meal at the bar or a table before the movie. Here is a sneak peek at the menu…
Cobb 10 Theatre at Tyrone Square Mall also has a party room, perfect for kiddos. They had the room all decorated in a Jungle Book theme for the upcoming movie release, however this room can also be used for meetings or other get-togethers.
I cannot wait to go back and see a movie with hubby for a date night. This would also be the perfect theatre for a fun girls’s night out! With reserved seating, luxury seating, fresh-made food, and a full serve bar, this is the theatre to go to.
What is your favorite time of day to go to the movies?
